About this Cat
Beautiful classic orange tabby Valencia was extremely friendly and affectionate when she first arrived at the shelter. Sadly, everything soon went wrong, and she is only now beginning to warm up to people again. Valencia is part of a whole big family of fluffy orange or brown tabby cats with much too similar features because they share too many genes. Subsequent generations were likely doomed from the start. Valencia was heavily pregnant and went into labor not long after being settled in a cozy bed. Tragically, none of the kittens who were delivered alive survived more than a couple of days and poor Valencia had to be rushed to emergency surgery. The cat who came back to the shelter wanted nothing to do with people. She loves the rest of her family, is cautiously starting to join playtime, and tolerates the occasional pet, but still spends a lot of time hanging back or glaring suspiciously. Will you be the one to coax out the sweet girl under the growls again? Valencia was born approximately April of 2023. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****

Adopt Valencia and Receive Valencia's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Valencia's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Valencia's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Valencia, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Valencia's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Valencia was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Valencia’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Valencia’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Valencia’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
