About this Dog
Sterling was saved from euthanasia at a kill shelter by another Iowa rescue. That rescue closed down so he transferred to us. Meet Sterling! This adorable fella has found himself in need of a new home after being rescued from a shelter that was running out of room! Sterling is a LOVER to the max. He loves lying on the couch after your long day at work. He is the perfect mix of cuddly and playful! He's happy to lounge around but is thrilled to go on a walk at any given time (unless it's cold, snowing, or raining, or storming.) He's more of a sunshine walker. He's sure to clean up the kitchen floor whenever you drop something which can be pretty convenient! Sterling has learned how to sit, spin, stay, and down. He also sometimes acts like he knows how to shake but we don't have that one 100% down yet. He walks generally well on a leash however he can get excited when he sees other dogs, a couple of treats typically get his attention back to you! Sterling does well with our other resident foster dog and they can often be found wrestling or playing tug of war! Sterling does have separation anxiety, this can cause him to bark for a bit when he is alone. He has no problem going into his crate for the price of a small treat. He will need a heavy duty kennel as he can get out of a wire one. Please do not let this stop you from adopting him, with exercise and consistent training he has been making BEAUTIFUL progress. Sterling is just looking for a loving, dedicated family to help him feel like he truly belongs. Sterling 2 years old Neutered male

Adopt Sterling and Receive Sterling's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Sterling's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Sterling's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Sterling, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Sterling's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sterling was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sterling’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Sterling’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sterling’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
