About this Dog
Meet Bert – Your Future Couch Cuddler! This big, goofy sweetheart is an almost 9-month-old hound mix with a heart as big as his paws! He's going to be a large dog when fully grown and is already showing signs of being a gentle giant in the making. Bert is a total cuddle bug who loves nothing more than snuggling up on the couch after a good play session. He sleeps soundly through the night and gets along great with other dogs. Still young and learning, he needs continued help with socialization, as all puppies do — but he's eager to please and picks things up quickly with the right guidance including leash walking which he has enjoyed doing with his foster family. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who will grow right into your heart (and maybe onto your lap!), Bert might just be the perfect fit. Bert's adoption fee is $300 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives, plus a free basic training course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of keeping their pets altered and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. If you are interested in meeting Bert, please fill out an adoption application for consideration. The adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit.

Adopt Bert and Receive Bert's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bert's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Bert's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bert, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bert's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bert was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bert’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bert’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bert’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
