About this Dog
HUXLEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Huxley and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (June 16th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Falls Church (6100A Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)! Name: Huxley Best Guess for Breed: Lab/Retriever mix Best Guess for Age: 1 year as of February 2024 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 51 lbs Gets Along With: Huxley does well with other dogs and cats! We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested. Currently Living at: DC area foster home. Check out this video of Huxley: https://youtube.com/shorts/43Ck0FqZDDQ. Special adoption considerations: When Huxley arrived in the shelter, he was very scared and shut down. However, he has been making great strides. We think Huxley would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure he can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to continue to build confidence. Huxley is Looking For: This cutie was confused and scared when he arrived in the shelter. He is eager to get out and ultimately, trot through the world with confidence, exploring all the places and experiences he has not yet seen or had. Extra patient and loving adopters are what he's seeking - and obedience school will help build his braves as well. He's already up for exploring all the toys to see what he likes best, testing various dog beds to determine the exact degree of plushness is ideal, and trying all the treats. Most of all, though, Huxley wants to live his life as a well-loved dog and to know who his family is. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes and unwavering loyalty for all his days. What do you say? Can you envision looking down at your side and seeing those deep, dark eyes staring up at you with love? What My Foster Says About Me: Huxley is a sweet boy who has just the right amount of playfulness and calmness. He is learning how to play with toys including playing tug with his fosters. When he needs a rest, he will find a person to cuddle with. Huxley is living with an older large dog and reads his signals well about when he wants to play and when he does not. Huxley is gaining confidence during walks with his foster’s dog. Huxley walks well on the leash without pulling. He enjoys long walks and would probably enjoy hiking. He has done some running with his foster and would make a good running companion. Huxley lives with two cats and shows mild curiosity about them but does not go after them. He sleeps in his crate however prefers to have his crate in the same room as a person. He has had no accidents since joining his fosters home. Huxley enjoys meeting people of all ages and dogs of all sizes. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Adopt Huxley and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Huxley's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Huxley's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Huxley, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Huxley's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Huxley was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Huxley’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.

We want the Huxley’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Huxley’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
