About this Dog

I have a black German Shepherd female named Banshee born in May of 2018. She tends to resource-guard toys, food, and me. When I am not home she never loses her temper, but if I am, she can suddenly snap at other dogs with intent to kill. Because she killed a puppy (10 wks old) defending a toy, and we have 3 other 15 lb dogs, I have to rehome her to protect them. I am devastated to lose her, but she needs to be in a home without any other dogs. She is crate-trained, and mostly house-trained, if she has a fenced-in yard to play in. (She is able to climb out of a 5' wood fence.) She gets along well with my cats. She is shy of strangers - especially men, and I would not recommend a home with young children. She is healthy, up-to-date with her vaccines, and is spayed. She gets a daily dose of fluoxitine as a calming measure, but probably would not need it with no other dogs around. She stays indoors, except to play and potty. She's always anxious to chase balls & play with toys & is very smart. She knows the word "cuddles" and loves leaning against me while being brushed, rubbed, or just petted. She comes with a crate, a blanket I crocheted for her, her leash & collar, her medicine, her favorite treats, a washable large puppy pad for indoors, and a couple of her favorite toys. I live in central IN, 15 miles east of the IL state line, and work in Champaign, IL 5 days a week. If there is any possibility of finding her a home where I could see her now and then, that would be amazing (although I realize that's unlikely). Please help me find her a safe and loving home...I love her immensely and she is bonded to me.

Adopt Banshee and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Banshee's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Banshee receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Banshee, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Banshee's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Banshee was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Banshee’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What is Dogecoin?

"The fun and friendly internet currency."

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Banshee’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Banshee’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
