Dog adoption in Crown Point, IN, 46307 Pitbull Dog "Zylo"

Zylo was adopted from a shelter three years ago. He is sweet and friendly and has done well with kids. He is mostly low energy with occasional zoomies, but generally prefers sleeping on the couch or a bed. He loves pets and will put his paw or head on you when he wants attention.

He is crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night, although he may whine when initially crated. He will shred anything soft in his crate and needs very durable toys. He knows sit, down, place, go to bed, go away, look, come, leave it, and take it.

Zylo is dog aggressive and has bitten another dog in the past. He is particularly reactive toward large, dark-colored dogs, including Labs and German Shepherds.

He has significant anxiety with storms, rain, and fireworks. When anxious, he may pace, pant, whine, carry a toy, forget his training, and urinate in the house. Trazodone helps quite a bit, as does taking him outside and then crating him when bad weather begins.

He can generally be crated for several hours, but occasionally has a bowel movement in his crate if left longer than 4–5 hours. This is rarely an issue overnight unless he is let out later than usual.

Overall, Zylo is an affectionate, laid-back dog who loves attention but is also perfectly content to spend most of his day lounging.

His crate, toys, and current food will go with him to his new home.
