Have you ever heard the phrase, “To know a beagle is to love a beagle,” but realized you’ve never actually met one? Well, lucky you—here I am, the sweetest beagle around, and I just so happen to be looking for my forever home! My name is Laia, and I’m two years old. I absolutely love being around other dogs and would make a wonderful companion for any canine friends you already have. I’m okay with cats, too—though between you and me, they’re not quite as fun as dogs, but I won’t bother them. I’m looking for someone who understands my breed and is willing to be patient and gentle with me. I’ve had a tough start and carry some fear-based behaviors, so I’ll need your help learning that the world doesn’t have to be so scary. Loud noises and sudden movements are especially frightening for me, so I’d really prefer a calm, quiet home with soft voices and predictable routines. I’ll also need to stay leashed outdoors until I’m no longer a flight risk—so those joyful off-leash zoomies will have to wait just a little while. I may be timid at first. It will take time for me to believe that you’re truly here to love and protect me—but once I do, I will blossom. I can be incredibly snuggly and affectionate with the people I trust, and I have so much love to give. Just a little praise means the world to me, so don’t hold back on the compliments! I promise I’m worth the wait. With patience and kindness, I’ll show you just how special a beagle’s love can be. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Laila was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Laila’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Laila’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Laila’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
