Meet Nelly ! Nelly is a 15 lb, 4-month-old Beagle/Dachshund mix with a heart of gold and a playful spirit. She’s still working on her potty training, but with a little more time, treats, and patience, she’ll have it mastered in no time. This curious girl loves to watch bugs, birds, and squirrels—she’s more intrigued than chase-happy, which just adds to her charm. When she’s not on “nature watch,” Nelly is busy emptying the toy bin and having the best time entertaining herself. At home, she’s been great with cats, other dogs, and kids. She’s naturally on the submissive side, making her easy to get along with. At night, Nelly sleeps soundly in her crate, and with a frozen peanut butter treat, she’s happy to hang out in her pen when left alone. We expect Nelly to stay on the smaller side (maybe 30–40 lbs full grown)—she’s got those dainty little paws to prove it. Most of all, she has a sweet, cuddly personality and can’t wait to be someone’s best friend. If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup who’s equal parts silly and snuggly, Nelly is your girl! IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Nelly was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Nelly’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Nelly’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Nelly’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
