Squirt is a happy, playful Labrador Retriever mix who brings joy and energy everywhere he goes. Born around March 11th and currently weighing about 25 pounds, Squirt is your classic fun-loving pup—always ready to romp, explore, and then snuggle up when the day winds down. He gets along wonderfully with everyone he meets, including kids and dogs. He’s also shown potential to live with dog-savvy cats or in a patient home that can help guide him on how to be respectful with feline friends (he thinks they are wrestling buddies). Squirt enjoys running around the house, playing in the yard, chasing toys, and chewing on bones. After a good play session, Squirt is happiest curled up in a lap, snuggling with another dog, or snoozing in bed with his people—because yes, that’s where he sleeps at night! He’s making great progress with house training and does well in his crate during the workday. He’s not a big fan of being crated while his humans are home—he’d much rather be part of the action—but he’s learning. Squirt is very treat-motivated, already knows how to sit, and is eager to learn more. If you're looking for a fun, affectionate pup who’s equal parts silly and sweet, Squirt just might be your perfect match. His adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 rabies registration fee for McLean County residents (if 4 months or older). He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Squirt's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Squirt was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Squirt’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Squirt’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Squirt’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
