Meet Zuko, our handsome 3-year-old Pomsky who weighs about 25 pounds. Zuko is learning the ropes of trust, love, and companionship! He requires a quiet, calm home with a secure, fenced yard to keep him safe. His new home should have few visitors and an owner experienced with fearful dogs. If there are kids in the home, they need to be respectful teenagers who are able to give Zuko time and patience to adjust. This sweet boy is making progress on his house training and is comfortable in his crate. He gets along well with his foster dog siblings (who are all bigger than him) and would benefit greatly from having a confident canine companion in his forever home, as other dogs help him build his confidence. As his foster mom shares, “Zuko is very sweet but still a very shy. Each day, he’s learning to trust people more. While he’s not a snuggler, he’s curious about being close to people and will follow you from room to room.” Though he’s still figuring out if he likes head pets, he’s showing more interest in connecting with people. If you’re a patient, understanding dog lover with a calm home, Zuko might be the perfect companion to share your life with. His adoption fee is $100 plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Zuko's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Zuko was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Zuko’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Zuko’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Zuko’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
