About this Dog
Meet Dug — The Sweet, Smart, and Sprinkler-Loving Sidekick You've Been Waiting For Dug is a friendly, playful, and loyal pup who’s ready to be your best buddy. He is a 48 pound, 1-year-old Border Collie mix. He’s wonderful with kids—gentle, patient, and even takes treats delicately from the baby! He gets along well with other dogs and is submissive and respectful in his play. While he hasn’t met any cats, his foster thinks he’d likely do just fine. This smart boy already knows sit, lay down, shake, and stay, and he’s always up for a game of fetch, a chew session with a good bone, or a ride in the car. He sleeps peacefully on a dog bed in his foster parents’ room, and though he may whine a bit in the crate at first, he settles quickly. Dug really shines in the yard—especially if there’s a sprinkler involved. He loves water, tail-wagging playtime, and romping around with his foster family’s young kids. He’s also great at entertaining himself with toys and knows how to match the energy of his playmates, whether it’s a rowdy bulldog or a chill shih tzu. His foster says: “ Dug is a smart, friendly, and happy boy. He’s submissive with the other dogs in the home and very playful. He reads the room very well and adjusts his playstyle depending on who his playmate is, whether it's our bulldog or shih tzu. He loves water and his favorite thing to do is play outside in the sprinkler with my young kids. Dug is low maintenance and can entertain himself with his toys. He loves lounging on the dog bed with a bone, but he would also love an adventurous day in nature. Dug will fit in great anywhere and we are loving having him. ” If you're looking for a loving, well-rounded companion with just the right mix of playful energy and mellow charm—Dug might just be your perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Adopt Dug and Receive Dug's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Dug's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Dug's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Dug, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Dug's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Dug was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Dug’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Dug’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Dug’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
