About this Dog
Meet Osa — A Spirited Heeler Mix Ready for Adventure and Affection Osa is a 1-year-old, 18.8-pound Heeler mix bursting with energy, curiosity, and heart. True to her breed, she’s smart, active, and always up for a challenge—both mental and physical. She’ll thrive with an adopter who understands the Heeler mindset and can give her the structure, activity, and attention she craves. Osa is making great progress with housetraining and is almost there. While she tolerates her crate—especially when it's in her foster parents’ bedroom—she’d much rather be out and about, close to her people. A fenced yard is a must, not just for her high energy but also because she doesn’t like to potty on a leash or tie-out. She loves toys, bones, and curling up in your lap like she’s a 5-pound pup. She enjoys playing with other dogs, though she can be selective—sometimes ready to play, sometimes ready to be the boss. She hasn’t met young children, but her foster believes she’d do fine with respectful kids, especially as she’s still learning how to keep all four paws on the ground. Osa is described as friendly, outgoing, confident, adaptable, playful, happy, and loyal. Her foster mom says: “She loves to be up close to her people and being the center of attention.” If you’re looking for a sharp, affectionate, and energetic companion—and ideally have Heeler or herding breed experience—Osa just might be your perfect match. She’s ready to be your active sidekick and your loyal shadow. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Adopt Osa and Receive Osa's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Osa's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Osa's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Osa, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Osa's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Osa was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Osa’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Osa’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Osa’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
