About this Dog
Meet Shad, a 5-year-old Malamute mix who weighs in at a sturdy 73 pounds. Shad recently got a fresh start—literally—as his matted coat and tick infestation required a full shave. While his signature fluffy look will return in time, his sweet personality is already shining through. Shad is a low-energy guy who enjoys lounging around the house and going on short, leisurely walks. He’s a cuddly companion who loves being close to his people, and while he doesn’t know basic commands just yet, he’s eager to please and would benefit from some gentle training. Shad walks beautifully on a leash and is friendly with everyone he meets. He’s also dog-friendly, though he typically only engages in play when prompted by another dog. He doesn’t love going into his crate, but once he’s in, he settles down just fine. In his foster home, he often chooses to sleep wherever he pleases. Shad rarely barks, but when he’s hungry or ready to go outside, he’ll let you know with some excited vocalizations. Shad hasn’t been around cats or children, so we’re not sure how he’d do with them, but he’s shown himself to be a loving, gentle boy who’s ready to find a forever home where he can continue to blossom. His adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. To be considered for adoption, you must first submit the application found at: http://fs16.formsite.com/WishBoneCanineRescue/adoptionapplication/index.html For information about this dog's breed(s), visit: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/abc.htm

Adopt Shad and Receive Shad's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Shad's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Shad's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Shad, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Shad's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Shad was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Shad’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Shad’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Shad’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
