Here is a large dog for those of you who are looking for a friend you can lean on and put your arms around on those cooler nights. His name is STUD MUFFIN! This gorgeous fellow is listed at 3 to 4 years of age and he weighed a whopping 75 pounds at Intake in mid May 2025. Staff has listed him as a mixture of Hound and Bully. His markings are brindle and white. Thankfully, he was already neutered upon arrival and that means that he can go home the same day that he is adopted! Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the appointment in case you do decide to adopt STUD MUFFIN or one of the other spayed or neutered dogs currently at the shelter. Even better, take a dog crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and STUD MUFFIN was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, STUD MUFFIN’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the STUD MUFFIN’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, STUD MUFFIN’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
