Adopt Slush! Slush is a Teddy Bear(large/Syrian) hamster who is less than a year old. He is timid, but has allowed his foster caregiver to pet him gently and hold him (scooping under and slowly). He was surrendered by his owner, a college student, who named him after snow ❄️☃️ and could not have him anymore due to the landlord's policy of "no pets." Slush is very much on a nocturnal schedule and would like someone who is ok only holding him at night, when he is awake. He would love to hang with you and share healthy snacks, and show you how he jogs on his wheel. Slush would be well matched to a person who can help him get more used to petting and holding, with gentle patience. He is a sweet boy! A Syrian hamster needs a cage with a minimum of 450 square inches of floor space, but bigger is always better. The recommended minimum size is 40 x 22.5 inches or 100cm x 50cm. Aim for a cage height of at least 24 inches to accommodate a deep layer of bedding. To adopt Slush please fill out an application with complete and clear responses. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Slush was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Slush’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Slush’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Slush’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
