Meet Waylon! Hound Mix | Born ~May 10 | 13.5 lbs (and growing!) Waylon is a happy-go-lucky hound mix pup with a heart as big as his floppy ears! At just over two months old, he's already showing the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and sweet, mellow snuggle buddy when it's time to wind down. Waylon gets along great with kids, other dogs, and even cats—he’s a friendly, easygoing pup who just wants to be part of the fun. Whether he's romping in the yard, playing with a new toy, or napping by your feet, Waylon is always happy to be included. He’s currently 13.5 lbs, and he’s expected to grow into a 65–75 lb hound dog, so he’ll need a securely fenced yard where he can safely stretch his legs and do what hounds do best: run, sniff, and explore. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and playful companion who will grow up to be your best buddy, Waylon just might be your guy! The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Waylon was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Waylon’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Waylon’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Waylon’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
