About this Dog
Meet Burt! Burt is a mixture of Chihuahua, Pug, and who knows what else. Burt weighs in at 8 pounds and is approximately 1 year old. This is what Burt’s foster mom has to say about him: Burt is a lap dog and companion dog extraordinaire. He loves to snuggle. A work at home or retired family would be an ideal fit for Burt. Burt is very smart and a quick learner. With love, affection, consistency, and patience Burt will blossom into a loyal and loving best friend. Burt is still young so he will need parents that can commit to the training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. His new parents will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily play and exercise. He is slowly learning to be less fearful. Initially Burt was fearful of strangers, but he has gotten much better since I take him everywhere with me. Loud noises cause him to bark. A quieter, more relaxed home, along with a patient family will help Burt conquer his fears of the world. Continued socialization will enable Burt to become a good canine citizen. I am potty training Burt and he is doing well , with praise and a tiny treat for going potty outside. He will need a family committed to continuing this training. Burt sleeps in a crate, but at the time of writing this I have not yet left him alone during the day. That is the next step. Burt travels well in his console dog seat in the truck and is starting to walk well on a leash. Being a puppy, he will chew on humans and other inappropriate things When he does this, I give him an appropriate chew toy to chew on instead. Please fill out an application if you are interested in this dog or call us today for more information. Since he is in foster, please call to arrange to meet him. Pet Adoption League 1526 N.
