About this Dog

FOUND/DUMPED DOG NEEDS REPUTABLE RESCUE/FOSTER…Found this sweet girl on Thursday, 12/28/23, on Hwy. 78, Lexington Road, Rayle, GA, Wilkes County, across from the Dollar General. Rayle is about 33 miles east of Athens. She’s a Lab/Pittie/Blue Tick Hound mix, approximately 1 year old. She had no tags and is NOT MICROCHIPPED. THE LOCAL SHELTER IS FULL AND CANNOT TAKE HER. The local vets did not recognize her, neither did any of my neighbors. She is posted on several Facebook pages. Lost Dog leaflets have been given out. There has been no response. She is intensely sweet and loves to be around people. She was definitely a house dog, and arrived at my house clean and in excellent condition. She’s been loved in the past. She is house-broken, can mostly sit on command, and has leash manners although she pulls occasionally. She does jump. She hates car rides. She has been around our many cats (who are frightened of dogs never having seen one, and I have gotten a cat bite that is infected and I’m now taking antibiotics) and, while interested, has not chased them. She loves toys. She’s loving, adorable, and still very puppyish. We CANNOT keep her. We have no place to put her, live on a busy highway, and have no fence. The grown kids have jobs, the youngest has school. They want her GONE. My not turning her out is causing bad feelings and loud arguments. On top of that, I am 65, have health issues, including a balance disorder, and have fallen while walking her. Not any fault of hers. So me walking her on a leash or being around her tie-out is scary. Please, if someone can help me with this sweet girl, you would be in my prayers forever. I need to get her somewhere safe.
