About this Dog
Name: Fig Breed: Pitbull Terrier Sex: Female Approx. DOB: 10/27/2019 Weight: 50 lbs Location: Powder Springs, Ga RESCUING FIG Fig was originally was found as a stray in Rockmart. Clearly emaciated and in need of medical care and love, she needed help. Animal control was completely full but allowed the finder to keep her during the stray hold. The kind lady who found her had recently taken in another stray dog who needed help as well, so she wasn't in a position to keep Fig but was determined to make sure she was safe. Thankfully, after learning about Fig, we had a foster step up and she got her Freedom Ride on 10/26/2023. Despite her condition, she is sweet as can be and ready to get the love and care she deserves. ABOUT FIG Fig is a gorgeous and funny girl, so full of life now that she has gained weight and is feeling better! During her intake exam, we learned Fig was heartworm positive, so she's had to take it easy while going through heartworm treatment. She completed treatment in January and so far it looks like she shouldn't have any lasting effects or damage. Fig is crate trained and housebroken, sometimes choosing to go into her crate on her own for naps. She has had supervised interactions with her foster brothers, but playtime has been limited due to the heartworms. She wants to play but sometimes doesn't understand the cues when another dog isn't in the mood, so her foster and our trainers will be helping Fig learn "how to dog" politely so she can have fun with new dog friends. Fig wants to be an active girl, loving walks - where she often and happily tries to chase the squirrels - and running around the yard. She has learned how to walk nicely on a leash as well as some commands like "sit", "wait", "crate", and even "spin". Fig is very food-motivated which makes her a good student, but can also be stubborn when distracted. Her favorite things are playing in the yard, playing with chew toys, and going for walks! She's a very sweet girl who makes cute grunts when excited also loves cuddling on the bed with her people. ADOPTING FIG Fig's foster says "Fig's perfect family would be people that have experience with dogs, especially stubborn ones! With proper training, I think she would be a good sister to another dog and likely would be good with older kids. She's a sweet girl that acts younger than she is. I don't think she's had a lot of human contact or teaching previously, so I'm working with her as much as I can to teach her how to be a good pet. She learns pretty quickly, and will do anything for some yummy snacks." Fig is up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. She will be spayed once she is cleared for surgery post-heartworm treatment, hopefully in May 2024. She is on monthly preventative and eating premium grain-free dry dog food. Her adoption fee is $300. If you are interested in meeting Fig or possibly adopting her, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.friendstotheforlorn.org/adoption-application. Adopt Fig and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Fig's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Fig's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Fig, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Fig's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Fig was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Fig’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Fig’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
