About this Dog
A SWEET & FUN FRIEND: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 14 lbs. Hi, my name is Darcey! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and I’m happy to be here! I was a bit nervous initially, but I am settling in as I realize I am in a safe place with lots of folks who love me and want to see me find my furever family. I’m ready to do that now! I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I can be friendly with other dogs, but I can also be a little picky about which dogs I like, plus the shelter environment stresses me out a bit, which doesn’t always bring out my best side. I liked some dogs I met in the prison/foster training program off-site, so let’s meet outside the shelter with my trainer and see if we can be friends! / I should not live with cats. / I met a nice boy and girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and was very hesitant and fearful of them. I’ve shown some guarding behaviors and reactivity, so kids 15+ could be a better match for me. Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers took things slowly with me initially and now my wonderful nature has blossomed! I’m described as fun, playful and super sweet and I know you will love my friendly nature. I can be a goofy girl and frequently put a smile on the volunteers’ faces. I’m also alert to my surroundings and am a barker, so best no apartment or condo-type home please. The shelter environment makes me a tad nervous, and I’ve shown some reactivity and guarding behaviors which are easily corrected, and my trainer will be happy to go over this with you. I also nipped at a temporary foster that got too close to my face as I don’t like that. I was a well-mannered little girl for my bath and did great for my nail trim, too. / My energy level is 6-8. Typical of my Jack Russell breed, I would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard, where I can run and burn off my energy. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. / My crate manners were good in the prison/foster training program. / My potty habits were good in the prison/foster training program. • LIKES/DISLIKES: Playtime is always fun, and I really like for the volunteers to bring out the toys (hard toys and tennis balls are my favorites)! I think I could play with those all day! I’m a good walker, so I hope there are lots of walks in our future. The volunteers take me to the playpen, where I do zoomies and show how high I can jump (which is pretty high) while playing fetch! I also enjoy a nice nap and some cuddles after a good play session. I’m ready to be your fun companion! / Other than showing reactiveness to other dogs I see when out and about, certain loud noises, and nipping when face to face I can’t think of any other dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a loving home with a wonderful family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adopt Darcey and Receive Darcey's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Darcey's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Darcey's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Darcey, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Darcey's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Darcey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Darcey’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Darcey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Darcey’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
