About this Dog
LOOKING FOR A CALM FAMILY: Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 18 lbs. and needs to lose some weight Hi there, I’m Bernard! Mostly Mutts came to my rescue when animal control reached out with a dog in need call! It was me and boy am I glad they did. I don’t remember what happened in my past, but I had a severely injured, infected, and painful eye that needed to be removed right away, my teeth needed a good dental cleaning, and my other eye needed cherry eye surgery. Thankfully, I’ve had all those needs met. I also got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot! I was adopted last year, but bit the delivery driver, so I was returned to MM’s and I’m looking for the right fit. I also gained a lot of weight when I was adopted, so please help me get back to a healthy weight again. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I loved the four calmer dogs that I met in my former foster home and got along well with them, so if you have a sweet calmer type of dog already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met nice calm and gentle kids at Mostly Mutts and did like them, as well as the dog savvy calm teens in my former foster home. So, maybe older calm kids such as 15+ could be a fit for me due to being slow to trust and wanting to be allowed to come to you for attention and being a bit possessive with my toys. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The greatest thing about me is something my trainers said recently – “once he trusts you, it is crazy how different he is . . . he’s amazing!” I hope I get the chance to show you. I was very sweet, loving, and gentle with my former foster family, but it was harder for me when being introduced to new people. In the prison/foster training program it took me an hour to get used to my trainer and a day to get used to his roommate. They learned that I would bark at and back away from new people, inside or outside, so I need a family who understands that I shouldn’t be rushed into meeting new people. Give me time and ignore me so I can get comfortable with the situation. If I’m rushed, I may bite out of fear, as I have done this a couple of times. So, I want a calm home without many new folks coming and going. I still don’t like to be picked up, so just let me walk please – no need to carry me. I love squeaky toys so much and play with them intensely, so if you want me to give one up, please trade for a treat. My trainer says that once I trust you, I am so fun and playful — I can’t wait to show you! / My energy level is 5 - 6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘doors’, ‘place’ and ‘leave it’ commands so far. I take treats gently so treat rewards are good for my continued learning! / In the prison/foster training program I barked in my crate when I heard noises, so no apartment/condo type home for me since there are neighbor noises and just too many people around for me to be happy. In my foster’s single-family home, I did well in my crate as well as in my former home. / My former foster reported that I have great potty manners and I did well in the prison/foster training program and in my former home too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like hanging out with my people, lounging around the home, Nylabones, chasing tennis balls, rolling in the play yard at MM’s and playing with toys, especially the squeaky type. / Being in a louder environment makes me reactive! I visited a home that was much busier and became possessive of my food and toys and I began lunging and snapping when people approached me. I didn’t do that in the prison/foster training program. I’m also sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, training, and good care. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I also had a good dental cleaning and a few teeth removed, cherry eye surgery as well as my bad eye removed. I take an over-the-counter Glucosamine supplement. I’m looking for a second chance to live my best life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Adopt Bernard and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bernard's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Bernard's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Bernard, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bernard's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bernard was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bernard’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Bernard’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bernard’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
