About this Dog
Meet Bear — Your Loyal, Fluffy Shadow Looking for a soft, snuggly sidekick with the smarts of a Shepherd and the sass of a Husky? Meet Bear—a big, lovable bundle of fluff who’s as loyal as he is charming. Part Husky, part Shepherd, 100% Good Boy, Bear is intelligent, inquisitive, and eager to please. He’s got excellent recall, thrives in training, and loves learning new things. Whether you’re into hiking trails or long walks around the neighborhood, Bear is the kind of dog who wants to be by your side for it all. He aced his training classes, made friends with every dog and staff member he met, and would do wonderfully in a home with another pup—or as your one-and-only. His energy would be a great match for an active single, couple, or family… but he’s also the kind of soul who’d be perfectly content curling up with a retiree on a quiet afternoon. And let’s talk cuddles: Bear doesn’t just love affection—he asks for it. He’ll gently climb into your lap like the oversized baby he is, soaking up all the love you have to give. * Good with other dogs * Loves hiking, walking, learning * Fully vetted * Sweet, social, and lap-sized in spirit Ready to meet Bear and fall in love? This boy is more than just fluff—he’s the total package. * Age: 2 years * Weight: 60 lbs * Temperament: Gets along with other dogs and older calm kids- he can get overstimulated with young excitable kids. * Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, obedience-trained * Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative * Adoption Fee: $275 * Questions? Email [email protected] To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.

Adopt Bear and Receive Bear's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bear's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Bear's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bear, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bear's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bear was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bear’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bear’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bear’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
