About this Dog
Scout would love to be a family dog where he could be allowed to cuddle with his people on the couch or in bed. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is very respectful of our cat but would likely be fine as an only pet, provided he got enough human attention. He goes into the crate automatically at meal times but will whine or bark if left in there when someone is at home. He can be a vocal player but is submissive to the other dogs in the house. He has such a sweet and loving disposition and would make a great family pet! He does still have some puppy energy and can be jumpy/mouthy when playing so he would be best suited in a home with older kids. He rides well in a car and is working on his leash manners and other basic training - he is very treat-motivated so he is a fast learner! Age: 3 years Weight: 48 lbs Temperament: Gets along with dogs, older kids, all adults, he is ignoring the foster cat. Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, working obedience-training Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: [email protected] To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.

Adopt Scout and Receive Scout's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Scout's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Scout's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Scout, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Scout's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Scout was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Scout’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Scout’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Scout’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
