About this Dog
Roo is a four-year-old, 82-pound German Shepherd with a soft soul and a heart full of affection. His foster family describes him as the ultimate “velcro dog” — he loves being close to his people and thrives on companionship. He gets along with other dogs varying in size and temperament and observed to be submissive with them. He is a little shy meeting new people like visitors in the house or staff at the vet but warms up pretty quickly. His energy level is typically low to medium. He goes on regular walks and gets tons of exercise in his foster home chasing the drone in the yard. He is house broken and crate trained. He has mastered several commands- sit, lay down/down, kennel, wait, touch, and off. Like many Shepherds, Roo can be a bit reactive when seeing other dogs on walks, but he’s been working hard and improving steadily with guidance. Roo’s ideal home would be with someone with German Shepherd experience or similar large working breeds. He thrives with a confident, experienced handler who can help him feel secure. He truly shines when he has a calm, trusted leader to follow. He’d also love another dog to play with and lean on. Roo is ready to be your loyal companion and most of all, your best friend. Age: 4 years Weight: 82 Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, older respectful kids Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, knows commands Sit and Stay, working on leash reactivity Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Adoption fee $200 Email for questions: [email protected] To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Adopt Roo and Receive Roo's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Roo's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Roo's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Roo, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Roo's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Roo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Roo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Roo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Roo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
