About this Dog
Our hearts got the better of us when we agreed to adopt a dog named Lola in an effort to save her from euthanasia. She was an owner surrender as they had fallen into a financial hardship and could not care for her anymore. She had been with them since she was a puppy and is now 6.5 years old. We also thought it would be great to give our other dog, Beau, a playmate again. Our previous pet passed away 9 months ago (the same time that our son was born).
Lola has been wonderful with our other dog; however, having 2 German Shepherds in the home with a 9 month old has proven to be too much. She has seemed a little overwhelmed at times with our loud and active household and would be best in a home with OLDER children (above age 10) or a household with a little slower pace.
If someone is looking for a guard dog, she is NOT your girl. She is the dog who will let the burglar in the house and show them where her cookie jar is. She is very sweet and loving and will give great kisses.
We have taken her to our vet and she received a great bill of health. She is up to date on all vaccines. She is not spayed; however, we have an appointment to have her spayed on 9/8/26. She is potty trained, great on leash and knows basic commands like sit and shake. She is highly food motivated and loves a good tennis ball to play fetch with!
It absolutely breaks my heart that we are not a fit for her and sincerely hope we can find someone who is. We would love to see her go to a good family. Attached is her picture. She is a young dog with an old soul.

How will Lola receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Lola, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Lola's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lola was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lola’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Lola’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Lola’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
