About this Dog
Hello, friends. A few months ago, we brought Duchess (German Shepherd) (the vet estimates her to be 3 or 4 years old) into our home from a rescue situation. We have had great success with bringing her back to a healthy state- we added a much needed 12 lbs to her and rid her of heart worms. She is to have dental surgery in a week or so to correct a tooth issue. That will bring her up to great health. I am an 88 year old woman and did not know Duchess’s disposition until after we gave her back her health. Since then I realize that Duchess is too much dog for me, she still has issues with whatever brought her to the rescue shelter to begin with. She has trouble containing her excitement, is difficult to leash and has knocked me down once. My question- do you think there is someone that can take her in and help train some of this behavior out of her? I live alone and I am just too old and not equipped physically to further train her. As I said, we have brought her back to excellent health but her she remains difficult for me to walk, get her onto a leash, into the car etc. I look forward to hearing from you. Perhaps if you can not find a proper home for her you can recommend someone who can train her further? Thank you, Sidney Boozer

Adopt Duchess and Receive Duchess's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Duchess's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$4 is Duchess's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Duchess, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Duchess's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Duchess was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Duchess’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Duchess’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Duchess’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
