About this Cat

am writing today hoping to get help rehoming my 3 year old cat Biggie. He found me 2 years ago at work and I took him in hopes of finding his owner and/or placing him in a home. The last thing I needed/wanted was a pet, but I really thought I'd find his owner or a home right away since he's so fluffy and cute. I've had no luck on either front and I am no longer able/willing to keep him.

He LOVES to be pet and snuggle. Every morning and afternoon that I am home like clockwork he sits and waits for me to finish eating and then climbs into my lap for a good petting/brushing/loving session. He even lets me clip his nails as long as i let him gnaw at the metal clippers when I'm done for a few seconds.

He's cute, fluffy, and sweet 90% of the time. The other 10% are demonic. Not really, but he does attempt to bite me at least once a week, and not just play bite. It generally comes out of nowhere - the only tell is his back starts twitching a few seconds before the attack which usually gives me enough time to get away from him. I've spoken to the vet about it and they've done a thorough work up with him and I've tried every suggestion i could find on tv/internet/relatives, etc. I'm being very upfront about this - but haven't we all known a cat that acted this way at some point in our lives? It's not what is the deal breaker for me.

He loves to sneak out of the house - usually darting past me when I'm unloading groceries - but he always comes back within a few hours when I call his name. My neighbors adore him but have pets of their own. I've seen him checking out a deer and once he was actually playing with a fox! He also loves to chase his light pointer and is very fond of jumping super high to grab a rope.

I travel 7-8 weeks a year for work (my cat sitter would be sad if this income was gone, but my bank account would be happy.) and my weekends have also taken me out of town 2-3 weekends a month because:

I am one year into a relationship now with a man who gets hives from even entering my home due to Biggie (and horses apparently) and we are talking about our future but I can't move forward with Biggie to take care of.

Other than the rather regular (at least once a week) attacks he is a pretty darn good cat. He does scratch the couch a bit, but not as bad as others I have seen. He loves to play with water so will knock your drink over and play with it which is actually pretty adorable. He loves to figure out how to get a treat out of a pet maze and he's perfect at using the litter box.

I am willing to make a nice donation and honestly I'm just desperate to find him a home, could it be yours?

How will Biggie receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Biggie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Biggie's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Biggie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Biggie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Biggie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Biggie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
