About this Dog
This sweet boy came to our veterinary clinic after being rescued from an elderly woman who had been coerced into taking him but ultimately was unable to manage his needs. He is a very fearful dog, and his fear can sometimes present as defensive or slightly people-aggressive behavior.
However, once he has had time to build trust with someone, he is a completely different dog. He is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and enjoys having people he feels comfortable with around him. He also learns routines very well and does best when he has consistency and structure.
Because of his fearfulness and behavioral needs, we feel he would be best suited to a quiet home as the only pet and without children. He would benefit greatly from continued training and a patient, experienced person who understands fearful dogs and is willing to give him the time he needs to feel safe and build confidence.
Medically, he is doing very well. We were able to get his yeast infection under control, and he is now fully vetted and neutered.
We are hoping to find a rescue organization willing to give him the time and support he needs. We truly believe there is a wonderful dog underneath his fear. Once he trusts you, his sweet personality really shines, and we would love to see him given the opportunity to find someone who will be patient with him and give him the stable, structured environment he needs.
We partner with a few rescues who are unable to help at this time. We understand that rescues are full and/or at their limit.

How will Rocky receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Rocky, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Rocky's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rocky was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rocky’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Rocky’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rocky’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
