About this Dog
Meet the most handsome guy in town, Chipper also known as Chippy. He is a beautiful approx. 12-year-old, 10 pound black and white, long-haired chihuahua mix. He may even be younger than 12, as he certainly acts younger. Little Chippy had a rough start in his life, after his owner went to jail and the girlfriend abandoned three dogs in a hot trailer with no electricity. When he first came into the rescue, he was very scared, unsure and not trusting of people. He would growl and show his teeth if you came toward him, especially with hands. He will still growl when he is unsure and will need his space. By his reactions, he could have been mistreated. He likes to be cuddled and sit with you on the couch watching TV. He plays with squeaky toys, and gets along with his fur siblings, but doesn’t have much interest in them. He loves to go on walks with two of his other fosters. He is house trained and sits quietly riding in the car. Chippy sleeps in his foster mom's bedroom at night in his big comfy bed. Chippy is still learning that people can be trusted, and that he can be loved and feel comfort where he lives. He may get a little growly when he is unsure. He’s beginning to realize life is good and is becoming a bouncy boy who gets excited when you come home or when you’re ready to take him for a walk. He’s an absolutely adorable little boy. The more love you give this little guy the more he responds. He can't wait to find a loving home that will help him live his happiest life . Chipper needs an all-adult home without children and with someone who is very experienced with a reactive chihuahua who will growl and will mostly likely show his teeth occasionally, someone who won't be discouraged or intimidated by this reactive behavior. (Please explain your past experience with owning an aggressive dog and how you worked through it on your application.) If you live in the Central Florida/Orlando area and believe you have the perfect home for Chipper, please complete an app and tell us more about you.

Adopt Chipper and Receive Chipper's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Chipper's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Chipper's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Chipper, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Chipper's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chipper was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chipper’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Chipper’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chipper’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
