About this Cat
Meet Trooper! This sweet kitty has been through a lot in his short life, and he needs the right adopter committed to his long-term care. His foster mom says he is a perfect boy and truly *the most* remarkable cat she has ever fostered. This will be a bit of a lengthy bio, but trust us when we say that Trooper is worth the time to read a bit more about him. Trooper is quite frankly a medical miracle. We pulled him from the county shelter after he was (most likely) hit by a car. Trooper had scabies, a broken spine, a fractured leg, neurological damage, and eye issues (entropion). He has defied the odds every single day of his life. His scabies are long gone, his eye issues were corrected with surgery, and his orthopedic fractures have healed — just a smidge wonky. There are really just two things an adopter should be mindful of: First, he will likely develop arthritis as he ages. The good news is that there are GREAT treatment options for this, including the highly effective monthly “Solensia”injections. Thankfully, Trooper is young and showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Second, due to the break in his spine, Trooper has some neurological damage in his left hind leg. Essentially, he walks on his ankle rather than his foot. The neurosurgeon said that this could improve over the next 6 months to a year as the nerves regenerate — and it has. Trooper does not walk flat on his ankle anymore — he now walks with his ankle just off the ground. However, he doesn’t walk normally and we can’t say if he ever will. His adopter should watch for potential pressure sores (which he thankfully has not experienced thus far). Personality-wise, Trooper is a trooper! Despite his previously broken spine and leg, he still climbs like a monkey. He climbs cat trees taller than his foster mom and even the barstools to get on the counters. He LOVES to play! After all, he’s estimated to be just under a year old — still just a kitten. Trooper also craves human affection! He is extremely outgoing and loves to snuggle on the couch. He’s truly everything you could ever want in a cat. Trooper is roughly 10 months old. His adoption fee is $75, and he comes neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Trooper is currently in a foster home with other kitties but would do best in a home where he could be the solo king. It feels impossible to capture all of Trooper in a bio - He is so loving and snuggly. He is so crazy and playful. He has the funniest personality. He is full of attitude. He is spunky yet sweet. Adopt Trooper and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Trooper's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Trooper's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Trooper, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Trooper's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Trooper was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Trooper’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Trooper’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Trooper’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
