Meet Poe! Edgar Allen Poe is his full name, Poe for short.He recently lost his home along with his playmate Aki. The photo used is from 2016, but he looks the same now. What we know, he is scared at first, a little hissy, but for the most part he is friendly and curious and will need a little time to adjust. He had senior parents, when one died, the other moved away with family and he couldn't travel that far with them. Uncertain about dogs, children, and never outdoors. They were on a canned food diet, but we can't do that here. He likes the laser light and will play and run around. We are still finding out more about his personality in order to be more precise, but for now, we are searching for a great home that is quiet and loving. We have his medical history, showing he had dental surgery, some teeth removed, and may be something to keep a watch on. He is healthy overall, and his parents took good care of him. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Poe (w/Aki) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Poe (w/Aki)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Poe (w/Aki)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Poe (w/Aki)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
