Hi there, I’m Newton—a mellow red tabby with a soft heart and an easygoing soul. I’m a real sweetheart, if I do say so myself. I’ve got this affectionate, go-with-the-flow personality that makes it easy for me to get along with just about everyone—humans, other cats… I’m all about good company and good vibes. I love being part of the action, though I’m more of a quiet observer than the center of attention. You’ll usually find me lounging nearby, watching the world go by (or the TV—I really do enjoy a good show). I especially love sunbathing by the window, soaking up the rays while keeping an eye on the neighborhood birds and squirrels. Being held and loved on? That’s one of my favorite things. I’ll melt right into your arms. The care team here at Sheltering Hands has a special place in their hearts for me—they say I’m one of their favorites. And while that means a lot to me, I know what I really need is a forever home of my own. Honestly, I’m not sure why I haven’t been adopted yet. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Newton's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Newton was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Newton’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Newton’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Newton’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
