Meet Grandpa Chewie! This adorable 12-year-old Shih-Tzu may be mostly blind, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit—especially when there’s food involved (he never misses a meal!). Chewie is on a little fitness journey to trim his fluffy figure, but his heart is already extra large. He gets along famously with other dogs and cats, and he’s a total pro when it comes to his daily eye drops—no fuss, just love. Chewie’s favorite pastime? Snuggling! Whether it’s cuddling up right next to you in bed or curling into his cozy doggy bed, he’s all about the comfy life. He’s also brushing up on his potty skills (and learning fast—he’s a clever pup!). All in all, Grandpa Chewie is a gentle, lovable sweetheart who’s ready to melt your heart. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Grandpa Chewy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Grandpa Chewy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Grandpa Chewy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Grandpa Chewy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
