About this Dog
Hi, my name is Fernando. I am approximately 2.5 years old and weigh 70 pounds. I am a very handsome and charming boy. I have a LOT of energy and need a family with experience to help train me. Good thing I'm smart and a quick learner. I am active and LOVE my chew toys. I love tennis balls and playing fetch too. Due to my energy level and size, I would do best in a home with adults only. I love belly rubs and will sit in your lap for hours getting pet! I'm good with other dogs but NO cats for me - I think they're fun to chase. I am protective of my humans and need to be properly introduced to new people so that I know we can be friends. I've been at Paws4you for one year, way too long for a handsome pup like me! Adopt me! FERNANDO SPENT TIME AT A FOSTER. PLEASE SEE FOSTER FEEDBACK BELOW! Nando (as we call him) is very sweet. He loves, loves, loves belly rubs. NO CATS!! As you know from the 2 beds he obliterated, he is a prolific chewer so we always have chew toys for him. Yesterday, I got him a squeaky lamb that he loves. I also got him an orthopedic bed for the crate for him to sleep on that he really loves. He did not chew it up and laid on it even when the crate door is open. His behavior has improved greatly. He does not jump nearly as much as he did when he first came home. That being said, he is a little mouthy (not with bad intent) and after playing with him for 10-15 minutes, he gets worked up and jumps and has nipped/scratched me numerous times. We really need to work on that. He has decompressed and seems very happy. No possessiveness with toys or food (but he is the only dog in the home and hasn't been tested with other dogs around his toys) He is very smart, a quick learner and very protective. So far he has “met” several dogs in the neighborhood and has gotten along very well with all of them. So, that is good. He went in the pool once and seemed to really enjoy it but hasn’t gone back in and I haven’t tried to get him to go in. We took him to breakfast yesterday. He did well despite the over stimulation. He is fully house broken. Other than peeing on my son’s bed (no idea why he did that), he has had zero accidents. He is not allowed on the furniture and is pretty good about that. On walks, he will pull if he sees something he wants to chase, like a squirrel. He is strong, so an older person should not walk him. He also is on a mission to find things to eat when he walks. I am constantly taking stuff out of his mouth (he lets me put my hands in his mouth with no problem). Also, he only barks when he is protecting our house. Otherwise, he is quiet. When meeting new people, we will restrain him on a leash and let him greet the people and keep him from jumping up on them and introductions are done inside the home. Strangers need to be introduced as friends. Otherwise he barks and is protective. Once introduced, he is ok.

Adopt Fernando and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Fernando's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Fernando's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Fernando, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Fernando's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Fernando was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Fernando’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Fernando’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Fernando’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
