Camina is just over 6 years old, housebroken, and full of love to give — but she’s struggling deeply in the shelter environment. She spent over a year with a dedicated foster family who cared for her knowing that the kennel was far too stressful for her. But what was supposed to be a short-term stay became long-term, and despite their love, they could no longer keep her. Now, Camina is back in the shelter surrounded by other animals, which is heartbreaking for a dog like her. You see, Camina needs to be the only pet in the home — she doesn't do well with other animals. But with people? She’s a total sweetheart. Loyal. Gentle. Loving. Everything you'd want in a best friend. She doesn’t deserve to spend another day in a place that makes her this anxious. Camina knows what it’s like to be part of a home — and she’s desperate to feel that again. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Camina was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Camina’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Camina’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Camina’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
