He absolutely adores people! While he is generally a somewhat cautious dog and tends to flee if he is uncomfortable, he absolutely loves people and wants to approach them for affection. When meeting someone new, he is tentative, but warms up extraordinarily quickly. He seeks out attention and loves having his head and ears rubbed. He is a huge fan of big hugs, and will push other dogs out of the way to seek attention from people! You will love running your fingers through his gloriously soft, long coat! When he hasn’t seen his people for a little while, he greets them with a scrunchie, toothy smile! - It is a silly face, but truly shows you how excited he is to see you again! Now that Koda has learned the luxuries of an indoor family home, he is happy to spend hours in the house, but also enjoys having outdoor time. Whenever the back door is opened to the yard, he is eager to run out for a romp. At his foster home, Koda shares the house and yard with one male and one female canine sibling. - They periodically play, and while on walks Koda is very interested to meet other dogs. He is submissive, but an extremely social pup. He loves meeting dogs of all sizes and wants to get to know them, and play a bit if they are willing. He very much enjoys going on walks (he’s leash trained!) and gets so excited at the sound of the leash. Koda is learning to appreciate toys - He prefers crinkly or noise-making ones, and chewing on ropes! He has a lower barking level than most Pyrs, sleeping quietly in his crate overnight, rarely barking inside, but letting loose when outdoors. His ideal home would have at least one other doggie playmate to bounce around with in a secure fenced yard, and humans who will lavish him with the love that he so eagerly seeks out! Housebroken: Yes Can be Placed With: Kids, Other Dogs, No Cats (they’re scary) Fencing: Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee.
