Dog adoption in Monroe, CT, 06468 Canine mix Dog "Meatloaf"

Meet Meatloaf Meatloaf is a sweet, loving girl who is happiest with her family. She is a true cuddle bug who enjoys affection, spending time with her people, and being part of the household. Once she bonds with someone, she is incredibly loyal and devoted. Meatloaf recently completed her annual wellness examination and is in good overall health. Her rabies vaccination booster is scheduled within the next few weeks to bring her vaccinations fully up to date. She is currently on the thinner side because her owner recently welcomed a new baby, making it more challenging to keep weight on her with changes in the household routine. She is otherwise healthy, well cared for, has no health issues, and is not taking any medications. Meatloaf is well trained and knows basic commands such as "sit" and "come here." She is house-trained and rings bells at the door when she needs to go outside. She has excellent recall and responds reliably to commands. She lives indoors in Monroe, Connecticut, has her own room to roam throughout the day, and eats dry food twice daily. She is friendly and playful with the Siberian Husky and cat she lives with. With strangers, Meatloaf can be protective of her family and home. She may bark or growl when meeting new people and needs time to feel comfortable. Because of this, she is typically crated when visitors come over. She has never bitten anyone. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she can learn to trust new people and has successfully warmed up to friends over time. Meatloaf would do best with an owner who understands that building trust takes time and is willing to help her continue gaining confidence around unfamiliar people. In return, she will be a loving, loyal companion who forms deep bonds with her family. Meatloaf is a wonderful dog with a big heart, looking for a family that will appreciate her loyalty, affection, and unique personality.
