About this Dog
Nowhere near as hulking as Bruce Banner or devious as Bruce Wayne, this Bruce is just a full on sweet young pup! Bruce is a 6-month-old black labrador retriever mix with the shiniest black tuxedo coat and cutest puppy dog eyes! He currently weighs 19 lbs. but still has some growing to do. He is likely to be a medium-sized (25 - 50 lbs.) pup when fully grown.Bruce was first rescued by our partner shelter in South Carolina before making his way to Connecticut. He cannot wait to find his forever home and join a loving family! Bruce is likely to fit right in, as he gets along well with other dogs and with human kiddos. He has not yet had a chance to meet a cat, so we do not know how he would do with a feline companion. With medium energy levels, he would happily enjoy a nice combo of play time and couch cuddles! At this age, short walks are best as the growth plate does not close until around one year of age. At that point in time, Bruce can be taken for long walks or hikes and can even be your running partner!Bruce is a confident young pup who is full of curiosity and ready to learn. He is working hard on his leash, crate, and house training, which are all in progress. Bruce is looking for a family who will help him continue his learning and socialize him so that he can become the best pup he can be! It will take time, but consistency, structure, and celebrating baby steps is the winning formula. Bruce will appreciate your care, patience, and love as he adjusts to life in your home! While he is not a green giant or a bat in disguise, we think Bruce is just about as super as a pup can get! If you think so too, Bruce cannot wait to meet you!* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Bruce is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.

Adopt Bruce and Receive Bruce's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bruce's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Bruce's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bruce, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bruce's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bruce was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bruce’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bruce’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bruce’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
