Buckles is such a handsome dude. He is happiest when he is with people who give him attention and love. Super sweet guy. He is a year and a half, weighing 60 pounds. He has a beautiful tricolor coat. He was found as a stray and bounced back to being a happy guy.Hounds come in a variety of types. But their personalities can be similar as they are known to be inquisitive, friendly, and intelligent. They are often lively dogs with plenty of energy, as well as being agile and of course, great trackers when using their sense of smell. Maybe Buckles has them all! Then again, he is a mix, so there can be different parts to his personality, as well. He is comfortable around other canines, adults, and kids. It is not known if he has met a cat. He is already leash trained so walks in the park, neighborhood and beyond will be a pleasant experience with Buckles and his leash manners. He is currently working on house and crate training. Lots of patience and consistency will go a long way in helping him master these skills.Daily walks will support leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. A secure back yard will give him free time to play and burn off extra energy. Maybe he would also enjoy going for hikes. At home he will also benefit from mental stimulation in the form of activities and play toys. That will keep him from being bored. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buckles was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buckles’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Buckles’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buckles’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
