About this Dog
Willie needs a new home after his prior owner became ill and could no longer care for him. Willie has found his way to Connecticut to find a new forever home and family. Willie is a bit of a mystery as far as his breed mix goes. He is a handsome boy with a white coat, amusing brown eye patches and black splotches on his back. He currently weighs around 38 pounds and is expected to be a medium sized dog of anywhere up to 60 pounds. He has plenty of puppy energy to go along with his sweet personality. He is happy making friends with dogs and children. It is not known whether Willie will extend his sweet temperament to cats.Willie is learning that being a good boy at home means learning his manners and he is hard at work absorbing and learning house, leash, and crate training. Puppy training requires consistent lessons with plenty of positive reinforcement. It is important to remember that rescue dogs may have accidents as they transition to a new home. If crate training is planned, Willie requires a crate that is big enough for him to turn around, stand in and lie down. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment. Willie is looking forward to joining his new home and family for fun and games and plenty of love.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Willie is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.

Adopt Willie and Receive Willie's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Willie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Willie's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Willie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Willie's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Willie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Willie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Willie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Willie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
