About this Dog
Cookie is a 10-year-old exotic bulldog with a rough past and a big heart. Likely used for breeding and fighting, she’s deeply protective and slow to trust—especially with men—but once she bonds, she’s incredibly loyal. She’s house-trained, kennel-trained (up to 8 hours if needed), and has a rubber duck-shaped patch on her back that makes everyone smile. Cookie needs to be the only pet in a calm home, though she’s done okay with a calm male dog in the past. Kids tend to win her over fastest, though she may bark at first. She’s strong, has some joint issues, and struggles with ear and eye infections, so she needs someone experienced who can handle her physically and provide gentle care. She’s not for the faint of heart—but for the right person, Cookie is a fiercely loyal companion who’s been through a lot and still has so much love to give. She has a history of being abused, we’re not sure how long she endured this but as far as we know she was a fighting dog. She isn’t so fond of men and has a history of biting men and women, ad recently ad a month ago. It takes time for her to warm up, but is caring and loving afterward, hoping for hours of cuddles and pets.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Cookie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Cookie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Cookie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Cookie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
