Rosie is the absolute sweetest girl! She loves her puppies, other dogs, and people. All she wants is to be close to you - def a snuggler! She is calm and affectionate.She's super treat motivated and already potty trained! She does very well in the car and in public. She doesn't love the crate, as she would rather be close to you. After a little while, she does settle down.Watching her get excited and zoom around the yard is such a joy knowing she has had a tough past. She is a toy aficionado and loves to play either by herself or with other dogs. You can tell she is SO happy and thankful to be away from the shelter and the streets. Rosie is emanating gratitude!We are unsure what Rosie has been through. She was found as a stray with her 8 puppies, and we think this was not her first litter. Despite whatever challenges she has faced, she is a wonderful, goofy, and mellow girl who can't wait to find her forever family! Rosie was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Rosie has tested positive for Heartworms. Treatment will be covered at one of the rescue's partner veterinarians.Meet and greets are by appointment only. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. Dogs adopted with our rescue come with FREE training from #GoodPup to help you build strong bonds from the start! If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs. Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive. From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability—how well dogs respond to human direction—was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rosie HW+ was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rosie HW+’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Rosie HW+’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rosie HW+’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
