About this Cat

Hello, I'm Gabriel, a cat who once knew the warmth of a human's lap and the joy of a safe home. My meows might seem foreign, but my kind human friends are lending their voices to help me tell my story. Once upon a time, I was cherished and coddled within the secure walls of a loving home. My striking black and white fur, my pink and gray paw pads, my endearing pink nose, and white front legs were all adored. My dark patches over my eyes and a tiny spot on my chin made me special and unique. But, life turned upside down, and I found myself on the inhospitable streets of Englewood. I was bullied and pushed out by other street cats, fights that left me with FIV. I sought refuge in a bustling Exxon gas station, which was frightening and overwhelming but provided a modicum of safety. One chilly October night, a truck camper had a flat tire at my makeshift home. The couple inside had two cats of their own and immediately understood my distress. The man spent hours, patiently earning my trust. I talked with him for hours scared of my environment and wanting help. My hunger and their kindness led me to them, and soon I found myself in the care of these gentle humans. They took me to a vet who confirmed my battle scars and my FIV status. The vet estimated I was between 2 - 5 years old. My new friends tried to find my original home, but no one came forward. So, they vaccinated me and gave me a temporary home and a name - Gabriel. I lived separately in the lady's truck camper, relishing the pampering, the spoiling, and the affection. I've adapted well and don't mind the bumpy roads between her work and different sleeping areas. I enjoy the baby talk, the pets, the warmth all reminiscent of my earlier life, and work hard to make as many biscuits as I can. I enjoy the different views from my bedside window. However the sight of other cats, even from the window, terrifies me, a chilling reminder of my harsh street days. Now, winter is setting in, and my human friends, the kind wanderers, find themselves unable to keep me. The decision wasn't easy, but they know I deserve a forever home where I can continue to receive the love and care I once knew and have grown to love again. So, here I am, extending a plea. I long for a forever home filled with soft blankets, kind words, and a peaceful environment devoid of other animals. I wouldn't mind being a vanlife companion. I promise to talk to you the second you come home, bring joy, affection, and gratitude. I yearn for a calm loving family who will help me forget the harshness of the streets and embrace a future filled with comfort and care. Can you help me find my forever home? With hopeful purrs, Gabriel 🐾 _____________________________________________ October 2nd 2023 Yesterday we found a friendly male cat with black and white fur. He has pink and gray paw pads, a pink nose, and white front legs. Black over both of his eyes and a little patch on his chin. I discovered him near a gas station close to the highway, and he was very hungry. I took him to the vet, who determined he did not have a chip and that he had been in a fight and had some minor wounds, both old and new. Fortunately, the wounds weren't serious. He hasn't been neutered yet. The vet also tested him for FIV, and he tested positive. Vet said he's between 2 - 5 years old. Despite that, he is a very sweet kitty. Who is missing home. He loves to be baby talked and pet.

How will Gabriel receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Gabriel, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Gabriel's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gabriel was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gabriel’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
