General Notes | Alfie is a sweet and playful chocolate lab puppy who's ready for a big adventure! After being rescued from the streets of Corpus Christi, he's trading in the Texas heat for the cool mountain air of Colorado. This little guy is a true "mountain pup" in the making, and he can't wait to spend his days exploring and enjoying a happy life with his new family. Want to adopt this dog? Please do not email us. Personality | Sweet and learning all about being a spoiled puppy in his foster home!Story | Allie and his siblings were found dumped and alone in Corpus Christi after their mother's death. Luckily, a kind police officer intervened, making sure each puppy was placed in a safe foster home. Alfie is now on his way to Colorado to find the loving family and secure future he deserves.Other Dogs | Good with other dogs!Cats | Alice has not been cat-tested yet, but would likely adapt just fine given his young age! Children | He would love to have some gentle, kind kiddos to play and cuddle with! Training | In progress. Leash | In progress. Activity Level | Moderate! He's a classic puppy who likes to play, nap, repeat :)Health Notes | Thank you! | Adoption Donations | Our adoption donations are $475 for dogs 8 weeks to 1 year, $425 for 1-6 years, $375 for dogs 7-10 years, and $250 for 11+ years of age. Purebred dogs regardless of age are $525. These minimum donations help to defer the costs of initial vet care, food, and supplies while in foster care that currently average over $700 per dog).Meeting Dogs | Foster dogs may have meet & greets by appointment to approved applicants only. We encourage you to put in an application even if you don't see your new family member currently, as once you are approved, we can place you on the waiting list for first priority on the selection of the dogs we do bring in. That means you can often meet a dog upon transport arrival and adopt before they even make it to this page!We can not guarantee that a dog you wish to adopt is available by the time your adoption application is submitted, processed, and approved. Your application is good for one year from the date of applying for any dog as long as it is a good fit for your family and your lifestyle.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Tolvanen / Alfie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Tolvanen / Alfie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Tolvanen / Alfie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Tolvanen / Alfie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
