About this Dog
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Lemur finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Meet Lemur | 6 years old | 11 lbs of Mini Schnauzer love! Friendly | Velcro Pup | Great with Dogs, Cats & Kids Looking for a loyal sidekick who’s equal parts snuggle bug and walking buddy? Meet Lemur, a petite, playful, and utterly adorable 6-year-old Mini Schnauzer who’s ready to find her forever family! Despite her small size, Lemur’s personality is anything but tiny. She’s affectionate, calm, and friendly with everyone she meets—dogs, cats, kids, and grown-ups alike. She can be a bit bouncy and mouthy when excited, so she'd do best in a home with children over 8 who understand how to redirect her energy. Lemur does wonderfully with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a pup companion to play and cuddle with. She’s also done well with the resident cat—sniffs with curiosity but backs off politely if hissed at. Lemur is crate trained, leash trained, and nearly 100% house-trained (she’s had zero accidents so far!). She’s currently learning basic commands and adjusting beautifully to structure and routine in her foster home. She loves walks, squeaky toys, and belly rubs, and when she’s not dancing or prancing around the living room, she’s curled up next to you like the velcro dog she is. While Lemur is a happy, well-adjusted girl, she does bark when left alone (especially if not crated), so she’d do best in a single-family home where her chatter won't disturb the neighbors. Car rides aren’t her favorite - she tends to get a little shaky - but she’s making progress. We suspect Lemur may have been a breeder surrender, as she came to us along with a group of schnauzers who all look alike. Despite her past, she clearly spent time in a home—she’s wonderfully social and house-savvy. Ready to add a little Lemur magic to your world? Apply today and let the cuddles begin! See more photos of Lemur here! If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $450. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email [email protected] for more information, as we can't accept calls.

Adopt Lemur and Receive Lemur's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Lemur's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Lemur's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Lemur, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Lemur's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lemur was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lemur’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Lemur’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Lemur’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
