Betty #5 – 1-Year-Old Lab Mix with a Love for Water Meet Betty, a sweet and playful 1-year-old Lab mix weighing about 50 pounds. This beautiful, black-coated girl has a heart as big as her love for swimming — if there’s a pond, lake, or water feature nearby, you can bet she’ll be in it! Betty’s start in life was rough. She and her littermates were abandoned in Trinidad, Colorado, and spent several months fending for themselves. Fortunately, a kind neighbor stepped in and rescued her. He spent about a month working with her to build her confidence and social skills — he taught her to sit, shake, and have a healthy respect for cats! Thanks to his efforts, you’d never guess she once lived on her own! Betty is an easygoing, affectionate companion who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even does well with cats. She’s still building confidence in busy public places, but at home she’s the perfect mix of calm and playful — happy to lounge around after a walk or play session. While she can be crated, she much prefers the freedom to relax in the house when left alone, and she’s proven herself to be a perfect angel in those situations. Betty would thrive in a home that can give her plenty of physical and mental activity, and she’d be over the moon to join someone who enjoys trips to the lake. She’s smart, food-motivated, and eager to please — the kind of dog who could learn just about anything with a little time and love. Could you be the one to give this water-loving sweetheart the forever home she deserves? If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Adopt Betty #5 and Receive Betty #5's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Betty #5's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Betty #5's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Betty #5, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Betty #5's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Betty #5 was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Betty #5’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Betty #5’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Betty #5’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
