About this Dog
At 9 years old, Chive is a gentle and calm soul who deserves a comfy, chill home to live out his golden years. We can tell he was loved by someone in his past, but things took a turn along the way that left him at our shelter as a senior stray with signs of neglect. Despite being in discomfort from untreated flea bites resulting in some hair loss, Chive is the goodest boy. He has hip dysplasia on both sides, but that doesn't stop him from enjoying his leisurely neighborhood walks. He's moderately reactive to other dogs on walks but is still very manageable to handle. His exercise needs are minimal, and he spends the majority of his day napping, hanging with his foster mom in the kitchen, or watching movies with her at night.Chive knows Sit, Down, and Shake. He's food motivated but still takes treats like a gentleman. He's potty trained, good in the car, quiet at home, and does not show separation anxiety. In his foster home, he gets along peacefully with the resident medium and large dogs. Smaller dogs are a bit too interesting, so he likely will do best in a home without small pets.Chive is a lovely companion for a quiet home. This good-natured fellow has been overlooked for a very long time and would very much like the opportunity to win you over. Please reach out to his foster mom ([email protected], 530-312-5724) to meet him at her home or at our shelter in Woodland!

Adopt *CHIVE and Receive *CHIVE's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, *CHIVE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is *CHIVE's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the *CHIVE, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming *CHIVE's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and *CHIVE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, *CHIVE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the *CHIVE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, *CHIVE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
