About this Dog
Cometa is temporarily in foster care and is available for adoption. At 2-years-old, Cometa is one of those dogs who defines resilience and is learning to trust again. She came to the shelter in December 2024, broken and confused, having been housed outside with her litter mates, under-socialized, and never receiving love from her humans. The shelter was a scary place for her, and although she tried her hardest, she struggled. Recently, a foster parent stepped in and Cometa has been able to relax and be herself for the first time.In foster, Cometa has made huge progress! She is learning that the world is not so scary and that people and other dogs can be good and kind. She has been running and walking daily and has been happily meeting people of all ages. She is walking on a loose leash and knows how to sit. She is getting brave about getting into a car, and has learned to enjoy car rides, especially if she gets a pup cup along the way! Cometa loves to play in her water bowl and has even gotten into her foster's pool with her best dog friend. Shelter staff were curious, given her docile nature coupled with her Husky looks. A DNA test identified her as half Siberian Husky and half Pyrenees. Living up to her genetics, she is athletic and fun like a Husky, and mellow and relaxed like a Pyrenees.Cometa is potty trained and would do best with humans who are patient and know that sometimes it takes time for a dog to gain trust and confidence with them. Having a dog sibling might benefit her overall but is not essential.Cometa has so much potential! Will you be the lucky one to win her love and affection?

Adopt COMETA and Receive COMETA's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, COMETA's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is COMETA's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the COMETA, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming COMETA's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and COMETA was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, COMETA’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the COMETA’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, COMETA’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
