About this Dog
Meet Waterloo, affectionately known as Looie, who is a littermate to Durbuy, Leuven, Brussels and Herstal. Looie recently made the journey to his ShepHeroes foster home, where he lives with a female lab/German Shepherd mix who loves to play with puppies. She has approved of Looie, and he has certainly won the hearts of everyone he's met. In his foster home, he's larning about living with cats and birds. And his foster mom says that he's definitely cat workable with dog savvy cats. Looie is a black and tan puppy with large ears that he will grow into, and he always has a perpetual grin on his face. He enjoys playing with toys and spending time with his human friends and fellow dogs. And he's a huge fan of treats, motivating him to learn more skills readily. Looie has mastered the "need to go out to potty" bell, developed a good sit and stay and he's working on a reliable down. Looie has also been going on rides with back seat companions to ease him into good car manners and has graduated rides just with his resident mate earning puppuccinos. He greets people with a lovely full body happy wag and adores being petted. When he's tired, he loves cuddles on the couch but naps in his crate if his people need to be away for a few hours. And sleeps in his crate at night although he's a light sleeper, waking up at various sounds to settle back down. In his previous foster home, Looie lived with a large dog as well. He is an energetic and fun-loving pup. Born to a lovely Malinois mother who has already been adopted, we believe he is a mix of Malinois and German Shepherd. Before arriving at his foster home, Looie stopped for some new photos and had a great time playing with Beauford.Looie bears a striking resemblance to his littermate Louie (Leuven), except for the charming white tip on his tail, which looks as if it were dipped in paint. We look forward to providing further updates on him once he has settled into his foster home. This litter was born under the care of Foster & Paws, a rescue organization that focuses on dogs who end up in shelters while pregnant. Since they are not a breed-specific rescue, we have partnered with them to find the best adopters—those who are knowledgeable about Malinois and German Shepherd breeds—for these puppies.Looie will thrive in a forever home committed to environmental exposure to continue the excellent foundation he's receiving in his foster home, ongoing training, and structure shepherd puppies need to grow into neutral adult dogs.
