Say hello to our new 3 month old pups! Leuven and Durbuy have settled in their foster homes after catching a ride with the volunteer pilots from Pilots and Paws. Leuven with Louie as his nickname is a happy, exhuberant, black and tan puppy who adores treats and happy to earn them. He's got sit, down mastered and working on reliable stays. Potty and crate trained, he sleeps through the night. He loves other dogs, climbing on agility gear and exploring the yard. Born to a lovely Mal mama who has already been adopted, we suspect he's a mal/gsd mix.He's made friends wth the neighborhood dogs showing us that he's confident, friendly and playful. He loves these playdates stretching his legs and running with joy. Louie has also met the elderly resident cat and was indifferent leading us to say he's cat workable with the right dog savvy cat. On his way to the flight deck, he easily walked through the airport on leash, happily took treats from the pilot and waited with a concern in the world to be lifted in to the crate on the plane. Louie is living with one of our alum shepherds while we seek a forever family for this sweet boy. He's an easy keep who settles heads to his crate when he's tired, gets into mischief by stealing shoes to strut through the house in typical shepherd fashion. These boys were born in the care of Foster & Paws, a rescue that focuses on dogs who end up in shelters while pregnant. Since their focus is not breed specific to shepherd mixes, we said yes to bringing the pups on board to our group. Looie will thrive in a forever home committed to environmental exposure to continue the excellent foundation he's receiving in his foster home, ongoing training, and structure shepherd puppies need to grow into neutral adult dogs. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Leuven aka Louie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Leuven aka Louie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Leuven aka Louie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Leuven aka Louie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
